Strawberry Hill Embankment Stabilisation

WTL Group was brought in to deliver geotechnical stabilisation works on the Strawberry Hill embankment. The site presented steep ground, restricted access, and required a controlled approach to maintain safety and programme certainty.

Scope Of Work

The WTL Group geotechnical team carried out soil nail installation using IRATA rope access techniques, delivered by suitably qualified operatives. Works were completed using skid mounted drilling rigs alongside a remote bunded grouting station to maintain control and reduce site impact. The scope included the installation of XXXXX soil nails and XXXXX m² of rock netting and geojute, all installed in line with the client’s specification and approved methods.

Delivery

All works were delivered within the planned programme. Rope access techniques allowed safe working across the embankment without the need for extensive temporary access or heavy plant. Grouting operations were managed remotely to maintain consistency and site control throughout the works.

Outcome

The embankment was stabilised to the required standard and handed back fully compliant. The project was completed safely, on time, and to the client’s satisfaction.
