The WTL Group geotechnical team delivered multiple strengthening elements using IRATA rope access techniques. The scope included the installation of tie bars, pattress plates, and a number of structural anchors to the existing bridge structure. Works were carried out by WTL’s in house IRATA trained teams, operating both within and outside of possession periods to suit programme and access constraints.
The project was delivered across tight timescales, with careful planning around possessions and live working conditions. Rope access methods allowed works to progress safely while maintaining control over quality and sequencing throughout the programme.
All strengthening works were completed safely, to the required quality, and within the agreed programme. The structure was handed back in line with client expectations and performance requirements.
