Corby Emergency Works

Recently on the national news during a bout of inclement weather there was substantial damage caused to the Network Rail infrastructure as a large section of the slope slipped and blocked the north and south lines at Corby.

The northbound train then ran into the mud at about 4pm, which stopped it in its tracks and the ground continued to fall away, meaning the train could not be moved. There is also deep flooding on the track, making it impossible for any trains to pass.

WTL were asked at short notice to construct shuttering using concrete pans around the tops of the ground piles, building a network of reinforced bar to strengthen and then fill with concrete, finishing the project with spoil graded against it and replacing the palisade fencing on completion.
