WTL were approached by Buckingham Group Ltd to deliver a concrete reinforced slab for steel buildings to be positioned on in the old Coal Yard at Hebden Bridge Station, work started and completed during March 2020.

This project was to be completed in two weeks and with the help of the local supply chain, this was achieved including the removal of around 120m3 of contaminated spoil and overall around 68m3 of mass fill concrete C20 and then a finished reinforced slab of around 60m3. Drainage was to be a sealed system with two gullies and chambers, the slab will eventually house a new steel building for the Coal Yard to operate from.

After initial excavation uncovered an existing drain and chamber as can be seen above we were tasked with filling this void to make up the lower concrete C20 mix for the mass fill. Below shows the amount of reinforced bar which we used to strengthen the C30/C37 concrete slab, this was poured and finished with a power float finish. 

The C30 /C37 concrete slab was poured in one continuous pour and finished with a power float to the clients specification.
