The scope included the installation of piling platforms and 98 rotary bored piles, along with the construction of pile caps both inside and outside the operational station footprint. The team also delivered a new platform structure using high output prefabricated Z units and coping stones, selected to reduce possession time and limit disruption to passengers. Extensive drainage and ducting installations formed part of the wider works package, all delivered in line with railway operational and safety requirements.
Works were carefully planned and sequenced to manage interfaces with live rail operations. The use of prefabricated platform components allowed rapid installation during limited access windows, supporting programme certainty and reducing disruption to station users.
The station expansion works were completed to programme and to the required quality and safety standards. The project delivered significant capacity and infrastructure improvements while maintaining safe and reliable station operations throughout.
